Theatreworks Live Fall 2020 Classes

We are thrilled to announce our Fall Classes for 2020!

We’ve got some great shows planned to keep theatre going safely.   We may not be back in the rehearsal room or on the stage quite yet, but we can still rehearse, perform, and celebrate the magic of theatre!  Our three age appropriate productions are specifically designed to be rehearsed, produced, and performed remotely on the internet. Each cast will rehearse over zoom and then record their performance for streaming to friends and family.  While we prefer to be in-person, we’ve learned how to have a lot of fun virtually.  We can’t wait to do it again this fall!

Dates: Saturday Mornings, September 19 – November 21
Performances: Streaming Thanksgiving weekend. Specific details will be announced soon.

ENROLLMENT WILL BE LIMITED AND WE EXPECT TO FILL UP QUICKLY.

He’s stamped, posted and cancelled from Hollywood and France to Honolulu and beyond, all in an effort to become a three-dimensional boy once more.

Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth the butler, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out… WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!

Theatreworks Live Hybrid Summer Workshop 2020

We are pleased to announce our ENCORE Summer Event!

We had so much fun with our Virtual Summer Camp, we are doing it again, but this time with an in-person twist!  We are so excited to announce: SHREK The Musical, Jr.  Due to the ongoing pandemic and quarantine restrictions, we want all of our students to be as safe as possible.  We are currently permitted to have an outdoor in-person audience free show.  Students will receive virtual instruction in dance, music and acting as they prepare for a LIVE filmed outdoor performance without an audience. The performance will be streamed online for viewing in the comfort and safety of your own home!

Registration is closed.  We will have our fall plans up soon.  Hope to “see” you at the show!

Why would I want to do a Virtual Camp?

  • We can still have fun together even if we can’t be in the same room.  Social interaction is a necessity.
  • We don’t know what the future will be like, but we do know that video conference skills will be necessary.
  • Performing in front of a camera is a skill we don’t usually explore in live theatre.  Time to develop that skill!
  • We stay true to our mission in creating confidence, creativity and character.

Matilda is the story of an extraordinary little girl with extraordinary powers. The daughter of abusive parents, Matilda finds refuge in library books, which she reads quickly and in creating her own stories. Things are no better at school, where Matilda also must face a tyrannical and cruel headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, who believes in Crunchem Hall’s motto: “Bambinatum est Magitum,” or “Children are Maggots.” She finds companionship in her teacher, Miss Honey, though well-intentioned, is shy and fragile. Brave little Matilda knows she has to stand up against the adults in her world, and in doing so, discovers her own remarkable powers. Matilda’s bravery teaches Miss Honey and her classmates an important lesson — that even though life can be hard, “nobody but me is gonna change my story” so “sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty.”
